Town Hall meetings were held earlier this month and over two sessions approximately 90 individuals attended the presentations focused on providing the community with information on the status of Coal City Intermediate School and to take comments and questions from the public regarding its future.
As outlined at the Town Hall Meetings, the Board of Education has been presented with several concepts—repair, renovate and rebuild. The attached information from the two public sessions outlines the various concepts that have been presented, as well as a timeline, questions asked by the public, photographs of the Intermediate School, and other pertinent information.
There are a number of things to consider, and the decision is one that will be made by the Board of Education based on what is best for the School District—students, staff, and community stakeholders. As always, they welcome community input.
District residents with questions regarding the information presented or those with insight they would like to share with the Board of Education on this topic ahead of its scheduled Feb. 5 meeting are welcome to email the school district at [email protected]
