Coal City Intermediate School is proud to serve approximately 300 fourth and fifth grade students as part of Coal City Community Unit School District #1. We are honored to be recognized as an Exemplary School by the Illinois State Board of Education—an achievement that places us among the top 10 percent of elementary schools in the state. At Coal City Intermediate School, we are committed to academic excellence and the development of the whole child.
