Coal City Intermediate School is a 4th and 5th grade building, which houses approximately 325 students. We have a very caring staff, who believes strongly in establishing relationships with our students. We have high academic standards, and we also realize the significance of developing positive character traits. We believe kindness is important! At CCIS we offer Student Council, Spelling Bee, Ag Jeopardy Team, Science Fair, Band, Wrestling, a Career Fair, roller skating, a school store, talent show, many reading incentives, interactive assemblies and a top-rate musical! For family involvement, we host Donuts for Dads, Muffins for Moms, Family Bingo, a Family Bean Bag Tournament, a Daddy/Daughter Dance, a Mother/Son Dance, and Grandparents Week. We participate in many charitable events to help support those in need, as well as, pediatric cancer research and the American Heart Association. We work hard and we play hard at CCIS! PLEASE NOTE ~ Due to COVID-19 many of our activities are limited, but we are brainstorming ways to offer as much as we can.
