Ready to take the stage

Fourth and fifth grade students from Coal City Intermediate School will take the stage this evening as they present “Seussical, Kids.”

The musical features a 47 member cast taking on some of Dr. Seuss’s most beloved characters including Horton and The Cat in the Hat, and this show has four hat wearing cats narrating the story of Horton whose  challenge is not only to protect the Whos, but he’s left to guard an egg  left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Along the way audiences are introduced to JoJo, who often gets in trouble for thinking too many thinks and Gertrude McFuzz who remains true to her elephant friend, Horton.

The show is being presented by the Coal City Theatre Department and is directed by Elaina Patten and her fellow Drama Club members.
