The students in Mrs. Gaffigan’s fifth grade class have been learning about matter in science.
In teams, the class created molecules out of candy atoms to represent a variety of different substances. Some molecules they created with oxygen, water, carbon dioxide, greenhouse gases, baking soda, stomach acid, mouthwash, nail polish remover, sand, salt and hand sanitizer.
Mrs. Gaffigan reports the class had fun working together to create molecules of everyday items.
