Learning and celebrating

Students in Mr. Leve’s fifth  grade class  at Coal City Intermediate School are wrapping up units on multiplying multi-digit numbers (ex. 573 x 64) in math and the American Revolution in social studies .

But more importantly, the students had a blast taking part in the 2023 Homecoming Week Festivities last week.

On Monday, the students came dressed out in their best 90’s threads.  Tuesday was “Rhyme Without a Reason” Day where the students partnered up and came up with two unrelated costumes that rhymed.  For example, a cat and a bat or Stitch and a witch.  Wednesday, the students repped the fifth grade’s class color—blue. Bring Your Own Floatie Day  on Thursday brought out all kinds of wacky pool floats! Everything from puddle-jumpers to double-sized inflatable sloths and anything in-between was spotted in the halls of CCIS.  Homecoming Week was capped off with Coaler Spirit Day. Students rocked as much Coaler swag and green, white, and gold as they could find. All of the students at CCIS loved joining in the fun of Coalers Homecoming Week.  Go Coalers!
