Welcome to CCIS. I hope you have a great school year. My name is Tracy Schmitz and I am the Reading Specialist at CCIS. I am extremely happy to be a part of an amazing community and school district. I graduated from Western Illinois University BS Elem Ed. and Northeastern Illinois University with MS in Diagnosis and Remediation, MS Reading Specialist.
I live in Naperville with my husband, 3 daughters and our Golden Retriever!

Our year has gotten off to a fantastic start. We have several groups that meet everyday to improve literacy skills. Students come to the reading room focused and ready to learn. They are working hard to meet goals and track improvement.

November Reading Tidbits
Parents can help at home by asking students questions about the details that are happening in the text. Ask your child to recall important key details that help support the main idea of the passage. Encourage your child to go back into the text to reread and find evidence that proves what the main idea is.
