Auditions this week for school musical

Auditions for the Coal City Intermediate School musical will take place this week—Tuesday, April 1 and Wednesday, April 2— during recess.

Fourth and fifth grade students interested in participating should be prepared to sing 30 to 60 seconds of a song of their choice. After they have sung, they may be asked to act out a quick scene.

At the audition, students will be asked to complete an information form that includes a parent contact number and to provide a list of activities they are involved in—athletics, dance, private lesson—along with the days and times of related practices and scheduled events.

This year’s musical is being presented by the Coal City Theatre Department/Drama Club and directed by Coal City High School seniors Melody Kinder and Eliana Chernesky with supervision by Katie Ludes.

The musical will be presented in the Coal City Performing Arts Center on Friday, May 16.
