Morning Arrival Reminder ~ If your child walks to school, rides a bike to school or someone drops them off at school, PLEASE remember they need to enter through Door 4 on the south side of the building (by Second Street, the 1-way street). Students SHOULD NOT enter through the office door unless they are arriving after 8:10. We appreciate your cooperation.
Survey for Parents, Teachers and Students ~ The Illinois 5Essentials Survey is open now through March 13. This opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness. On behalf of the Illinois State Board of Education, the Illinois 5Essentials Survey is administered online by UChicago Impact at the University of Chicago. The survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes, including improved attendance and larger test score gains. These five indicators that affect and predict school success are:
-
Effective Leaders
-
Collaborative Teachers
-
Involved Families
-
Supportive Environments
-
Ambitious Instruction
To take the survey please visit https://survey.5-essentials.org/Illinois/ and select the appropriate survey to begin. Your participation in the parent survey will help us guide improvement. Your identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and will never be connected to you or your student. You can skip any questions you choose not to answer.
The IAR (Illinois Assessment of Readiness) State Testing will take place the week of March 23. Attendance is very important. Please do not schedule appointments that week if possible, and try to avoid taking a vacation that week. Spring Break is March 28-April 6.
